Babyface Ray has announced the release of a new album titled MOB, which slated to drop early next month.

Set to be released on December 2nd, MOB will be the second release of the year for the Detroit native. According to an official press release, the album “is about keeping the blinders on to avoid all distractions while staying focused.”

Babyface Ray shared a trailer for the album on Tuesday (November 22) showing four people monitoring contestants listening to MOB for the first time. In the clip, everyone shares a similar reaction to the album, and they all agree it will make noise once it drops before Babyface pops up to announce the title.

There are no other tidbits regarding the album besides it featuring the previously released “Nice Guy” and “Spend it” featuring Blxst and Nija. The album will follow up FACE, which the 31-year-old dropped in January.

FACE debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts, respectively, while peaking at No. 31 on the Billboard 200. It came equipped with 20 tracks, boasting features from Icewear Vezzo, Yung Lean, G Herbo, 42 Dugg, Wiz Khalifa, Pusha T and more.

A deluxe edition was released in May and added eight more tracks with features from LUCKI, DJ ESCO, Lil Yachty, Veeze and Baroline. The album helped Babyface Ray receive a lot of attention on the national front, such as securing a coveted spot on the XXL Freshman list.

In June, fellow Detroit rapper Big Sean was seen hanging out with Babyface, giving him one of the biggest co-signs he ever received. According to Sean Don, Ray is the “chosen” one to take the Motor City throne.

“I feel like that’s one of the reasons he’s you know he’s chosen,” Sean said while standing next to Ray and his entourage at an event. “It’s like he pulled the sword out of the motherfuckin stone you know what I mean? King Arthur, you know what I mean?”

He added: “That happens only once every decade, once every other decade every thirty, forty years so it’s like you gotta understand how special it is.”
