Families and friends from TakeOff (real real name Kirsnick Khari Ball) met on the floor of the Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Friday (November 11) to say goodbye following his death. fatally shot on the 1st of November at the Houston, Texas bowling alley.
Participants at the funeral service comprised Cardi B as well as her spouse Offset who, along with TakeOff as well as Quavo became famous in the band Migos. Following the funeral Quavo, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker took to Instagram to pay tribute to TakeOff.
“Takeoff your untimely passing has brought a great deal of pain and sorrow to so many lives,” Cardi started her post. “The impact you made in the world was immense and we’ve struggled to understand this tragedy. I am devastated, however I am grateful for all the wonderful memories we had to cherish when you were with us.
“This is truly an awful experience, and the hurt is beyond compare. The sadness the brothers of yours are experiencing is overwhelming and I ask that you can give Offset, Quavo, and your loved ones the courage to carry on while they try to bear the loss.”
She also said: “I believe that angels send signs and beautiful dreams to loved ones to assure them that they’re watching them and they’re okay and happy…send your mom some of those [praying emoji].”
Cardi B posted the celebration with a range of images that show TakeOff and Migos with each one of them accompanied by a unique TakeOff song of the Migos catalog, including “Call Casting,” “T-Shirt,” “Gang Gang,” “Big on Big,” “Jane,” and “Fight Night.”
The final slide of Cardi’s blog post features an DM exchange between her and TakeOff and TakeOff, which is accompanied by his line from 2021’s “Type Shit,” which also includes Cardi B. The track can be found on Migos their latest album called Culture III..
Cardi’s tribute to her post read: “As a Migos fan it is a pain to look at photos and videos of you all together and listening to the songs that transformed the world of music and influenced the world and set the clubs lit up [fire emoticonin the post. It’s hard because I know it’ll not be like that, but I’m sure your bros and fans will ensure that everyone remembers the impact that you had.
“I will forever remember your incredible talent and dope personality. I wish you were peaceful and at peace since you are worthy of every bit of it. I believe that God has opened the gates of heaven to you with an embrace of love. Rest in power TakeOff (rocket as well as broken-hearted heart emoticon] will also cherish you for the rest of 4L and after.”
Offset was one of the people who spoke at the funeral of TakeOff in a moving speech in which he praised his friend and his cousin for altering “the culture of music forever.”
“You modified the flow. This flow was created by Take the person who created it. The person who created that flow. He changed the tune,” TakeOff told the crowd of mourners. “Lord give us strength and strength, grant us strength for the family, and everyone else Give us the courage. I’m not looking to question God however, I don’t understand.”
Offset declared on Wednesday (November 10, 2009)) that he would be postponing the launch of his solo album because of the death of his close friend.
