Coi Leray recently teamed up together Hip Hop legend Grandmaster Flash after listening to his hit song “The Message” on an upcoming track.

The two had dinner at a restaurant in New York City on Monday night (November 14) The Hip Hop pioneer shared some photos from the get-together. In the images, viewers will observe Coi as well as Flash in the in the middle of a conversation, and having a blast laughing.

Grandmaster Flash also presented Coi an embroidered hoodie that was custom-made featuring the phrase “Girls Are Players Too” in the traditional bubble graffiti, which the rapper from Trendsetter shared on the caption of her Instagram Story.

“It was nice meetin Coi,” Grandmaster Flash wrote in the caption of his blog post. “We had a discussion over Life, Music, the Business and she returns with great advice and she knows what she would like. I had a blast talking to her. Until the next time. Watch out for her on Twitter @coileray.”

The meal between the two rappers comes just only a few days following that the “TWINNEM” rapper shared a video on Instagram showing a record that isn’t yet released featuring a hefty sample from the Grandmaster Flash as well as The Furious Five’s 1982 classic smash “The Message.”

Coi is influenced by the original beat of the legendary Early Hip Hop record and can be heard singing about women’s empowerment on the track that hasn’t been released and has already been named”the “new anthem.” Over the bouncy, funky beat featured in video footage, she sings: “Cuz girls is playa’s too.”

She expressed her joy over the news with the title of the blog post which reads: “GIRLS IS PLAYAS TOOO !! KEEEP IT PLAYER BABYYYYY [Heart emojis] GOOD VIBES AND GOOD ENERGY!!! !”
