Meek Mill is determined to take over the rest of November. With his awaited Flamerz 5 mixtape scheduled to drop this week and the Philly rhymer is continuing to build excitement around the release. It’s the first time Meek made a bold comparison of Flamerz 5 to Lil Wayne’s most-loved series, No Ceilings. series.

“FLAMERZ 5 ‘FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY’ I’m on some no ceilings type timing DROPPING NOVEMBER.21st,” the rapper posted to Twitter. “This shit for the streets.”

Meek Mill started the Flamerz collection in 2008, and it helped his career gain momentum in his home town in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The final installment was released in March 2010 , and included appearances by Black Thought, Freeway, Gillie Da Kid and more.

The MMG rapper is working to bring the series back nearly 10 years later. He seeks to bring back the feel of his gritty debut in the fifth installment set to drop on 21 November.

Being a seasoned pro regarding intros Meek posted a teaser of the track’s opening on Twitter this week. The track is recorded by Dream Chasers’ Nick Papz and is a re-mix of the song of Survivor “Eye of the Tiger,” which was made famous through the movie Rocky III (which was set in Philly).

“PLAY THIS BEFORE YOUR GAME … BEFORE YOUR WORKOUT … OTW TO WORK … COUNTING MONEY …. PLAY THIS SONG FOR MOTIVATION !!!!!!! Play this IF you’re feeling down and require motivation,” he wrote while posting a small snippet from the track.

In the case of the Lil Wayne mixtape “No Ceilings,” the first album of the series was released in 2009 to great praise, featuring Weezy’s rhyming over famous instrumentals such as JAY Z’s “Run This Town,” Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say,” Fast Life Yungstaz’s “Swag Surfin” and more. The mixtape eventually was released on streaming services after a decade in 2020.
