Leonardo DiCaprio turned 49 this past Friday (November 11), and the Oscar-winning actor celebrated in style, hosting Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, and many other megastars at a Beverly Hills event space.
TMZ footage from the party captures Leo being lifted in a chair, Bar Mitzvah style — presumably in front of all the rap royalty present — while “DWYCK,” a 1994 Gang Starr track featuring Nice & Smooth, plays in the background. Later, he’s shown at ground level, rapping along to Greg Nice’s opening verse. The music is too loud to allow for a true evaluation of DiCaprio’s flow, but it seems like he’s doing a pretty decent job. Check out the video, followed by the original, Leo-less track, below.
Notably, the clip cuts off after Nice’s final bar: “Peace out, Premier, take me out with the fader.” For more content like this, check out my conversation with Gang Starr’s DJ Premier on The FADER Interview podcast.
